The Golden Stone

The other day I was my (mother’s) car and I was desperately looking for a radio station that wouldn’t play awful music the whole time and it
It was playing “Sugar Rum Cherry” and first, I let it play just to see my mother’s reactions. However, in a few seconds I was completely amazed and I wanted to find out what was playing, I only heard the last seconds of it.
My surprise when the disc jockey began to speak resides on the fact that I was simply listening Duke Ellington play Tchaikovsky. There is this album named “The Nutcracker Suite”, released in 1960. And according to Wikipedia itself, it features jazz interpretations of “The Nutcracker” by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn.
I highly recommend it to anyone barely interested on music because despite my or anyone’s personal taste, this is a piece of history and music greatness. My honest impression was an intense urge to watch Hitchcock’s movies and I simply felt calm and light.
If you have any curiosity on it, this is the track that inspired this all - “Sugar Rum Cherry”.
